The recommended speed is approximately 900 r.p.m.
What type of drill do I need to use with SBC?
As with all large holesaws it is recommended to use a machine with a slipping clutch for safety's sake.
What size holes do SBC cutters produce?
SBC cutters are available in 111mm and 127mm diameter.
Can SBC cutters be used with standard holesaw arbours?
Yes.
How does SBC create a perfect rebate every time?
The rebating teeth are attached to a stop-ring which when it hits onto the top of the board will not allow you to drill any further giving you a perfect rebate for the caps.The rebate is correct when a light scoring is visible all the way around the periphery of the hole.
Will SBC drill in floorboards?
SBC is not recommended for use in floorboards because the cutters are a very similar width to floorboard which means you will undoubtedly cut into the tongue and groove.
How many holes can I expect to produce with SBC?
SBC should easily produce 800 holes in standard flooring grade chipboard.
What are the caps made from?
The caps are made from ABS plastic.
Do the caps need to be glued or screwed in?
No. The rebate and the floor covering will hold the cap in place which means you then have very easy repeat access.
